Symptoms

Cyber-bullying has the same effects as physical, social and/or mental bullying. Cyber-bullying occurs on electronic devices (eg. laptop/computer, phone). Online bullying may also occur during school time (bullying). Symptoms of a victim of cyber bullying may include:
  • Discuss revenge with friends/family
  • Experience unusual anger, sadness or depression after computer use
  • Exit/clicking away current website when a person walks by
  • School or social phobia
  • Secrecy
  • Depression
  • Signs of emotional distress during or after use of Internet
  • Being very protective of their cyber life
  • Withdrawing from social life
  • Changes in mood, behavior, sleep or/and appetite
  • Symptoms of mania
  • Symptoms of anxiety
  • Symptoms of other stress related disorders
  • Suicidal thoughts
